Hello, my name is Ethan and this is "Songs Of Peace And Happiness"; the first album under the name Brick Road. The idea for Brick Road is to get myself to finally start pushing out my musical ideas into the flesh instead of keeping them bottled longer. SOPAH started off as three of these old tracks/ideas:
1. "It's Sunny In the Morning"
2. "Infinite Cosmic Glory And Light From The Eternal Creator So Far Beyond You And I!"; originally titled "Ballade de Marque Meloche" which was for a 2017 tape compilation which never came to be,
and 3. "Corridors of Peace" which, for a long time, has been a ritual improvisation I do from time to time for as long as I can play. This one was important for me to record and share.

Now of course, I couldn't just throw a bunch of tracks together and call it an album. An album needs direction! and flow! and dynamics! The remaining tracks were recorded in order to tie the album together as a cohesive offering. The final track is a cover of Lymbyc Systym's "Rest Easy / Age Kindly"; a very important composition which has brought me peace and happiness. The idea for the title and general theme of SOPAH was realised during the start of quarantine and isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Just wanted to spread some good feelings, you know? It feels naive and silly now after so much more shit has gone down around the world since. Maybe it can just be a reminder that we can do better to ensure others can have peace and happiness. Make of it as you want, I guess.

And what about music itself? Well it's there's lots of reed improvisation, lots of drone, it's kind of psychedelic.
You're probably just best off listening to it yourself!
